1. Foundation of Security

This 3-day competency-based training program has been designed to be comprehensive and should make a deal of difference that will prepare security officers to be able to deal with wide spectrum of security roles and functions. The scope includes three compelling elements of security disciplines, namely fundamentals of security, essential behaviors and its security competencies. It is most current and the knowledge created to meet the needs, expectations and challenges in the industry. In the nutshell, the modules deliberate on the essential knowledge, skills and critical behaviors that the security officers should develop in order to display the characteristics of professional security practitioners.

This program is actually the combination of Security Fundamentals, Competencies of Security Officers and Customer Service in Security together with its appropriate security models.. Though the topics are dealt in separate modules but it remains interdependent throughout the sessions. The program is packed with exercises and related video clips to reinforced and speed up the learning process.

This professional training program is an important milestone for all security officers and personnel who have yet to attend formal security training. It is also suitable for those who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills to carry out their duties professionally in the organizations that they currently served. Finally, this training highlights a clearly defined career-path that meets aspiring individuals who wish to pursue a more challenging employment opportunity in either commercial or government security services.

Security Fundamentals Security Fundamental focuses on the real security work, its goal, responsibilities, roles, functions in security and most importantly to attach meaning to their duties as security officers. The scope goes beyond to grasp the dynamics in security. The security fundamentals will be described in relation to the Malsec Security Service model. 2
3. Competencies of Security Officers

4. Customer Services in Security

Key Security Behaviors focus on its challenging and highly-stressed work environment; and adopt the essential key behaviors to achieve its effectiveness. The behavior is expected to support in achieving excellence in areas related to product knowledge, its delivery; most importantly the right attitude and behaviors to gain acceptance as a supportive business partner. The module will be tailored to the Malsec Security Customer Service Model.

5. Certificate in Security Management

This intensive program is developed for ex-service personnel who has sufficient security responsibility or experience, but lacks a certificate to reflect their level of competence. A team comprising of experienced and competent security and safety practitioners together with Qualified legal professionals specially designed the Certificate in Security Management.

In essence, this 6-8-day program is comprehensive and authoritative; most importantly, the qualified and experienced instructors will guide participants to proactively anticipate the challenges at workplace; demonstrate the applications of the relevant security principles whilst remaining sensitive to legal requirements and exhibiting key behaviors critical for resolving issues in a timely manner, meeting the customers’ expectation.

The purpose of this program is to meet the growing needs of experienced ex-service personnel who seek recognition through an approved course in anticipation of their transition into the industrial security area. This program also meets the need of security personnel in the industry currently serving in the public as well as the private sector.

6. Retail Security; House Detective

Independent retail studies have indicated theft from stores, including employee and vendor theft, cost retailers many millions of dollars per year. Companies can go out of business due to their inability to control retail theft losses. Shoplifting losses can account for about one-third of the losses.

Retailers employ plain-clothes loss prevention agents specially trained to detect, apprehend, and arrest shoplifters. The arresting of shoplifters has been one of the successful deterrents to the potential shoplifters. Therefore it is critical to provide special training to anyone charged with the responsibility of apprehending shoplifters in accordance with the law. The program will include the application of 6S approach... surveillance, confrontation, communication and apprehension exercises.

7. Executive Protection Program

This 5-day program designed to teach the level of personal protection skills that are essential in any life-threatening situations with corporate executives, dignitaries, celebrities and other high at risk individuals. Participants will study kidnapping, assassination incidents, learn to detect surveillance, practice sound counter surveillance techniques, review protective detail operations and motorcade procedures.

Participants will learn to recognize behavioral traits to detect potential assailants. Following classrooms lessons, participants will participate actively in practical field exercises (inclusive of medical emergencies & selective martial art techniques) to test your judgment and skills in tactical techniques.

The program emphasized on unique hands-on experience through participation in practical exercises to ensure the complete safety of their protections. Participants’ skills and their achievement levels will be rated at every session and to be reflected in the performance record. Participants are expected to pass in all practical exercises in order to receive the certificate of attendance.

8. Comunication Skills in Security

Communication skills are an essential element every security officers must have, as it is the foundation of successful relationship, both personally and professionally. This course has been designed to be interactive with self-assessments, role-playing activities and simulations in order to gain practical experience in various forms of communication situations.

This includes building personal credibility, delivering positive and negative feedback, improving listening skills, dealing with difficult people and use of nonverbal communication to connect with others, express what you really mean; and navigate challenging situation.

Special emphasis on skills related Walkie-Talkie Communication, Receptionist, Telephone courtesy, Handling Bomb Threat Calls, Emergency Announcement, essential Non-Verbal Language, silence Signals or Code words and special alert techniques. Participant will also be exposed to effective writing style to complement their communication skills.

9. Internal Investigation Techniques

This 3-day course is designed to equip those involved in the internal investigation function with the skills necessary to extract accurate, high quality information from complainants and witnesses. A specific protocol for processing incident scenes will be taught that will guide the investigator to gleam the maximum amount of information and potential evidence from the scenes.

The emphasis of the course will be placed on skill development on techniques which include sketch plan, photographing, interview and interrogation, recording of statements, investigation diary, preparation of investigation report and each topic discussed is specific to techniques that will allow them to interpret incident scene and its evidence; and arrive at the truth of an incident in a timely manner.

In a nutshell, the program focuses on how to prepare an investigation paper, techniques and the appropriate investigation report. Participants will benefit the unique combinations of practical law enforcement skills and years of investigation experience in the private sector will facilitate this course.

10. Handling Workplace Violence

Most people think of violence as a physical assault. However, workplace violence is a  much broader problem that includes threatening behaviors, verbal or written threats, all forms of unwelcome harassments and most dangerous are violent physical attacks. Workplace violence is not limited to incidents that occur within a traditional workplace. Work-related violence can occur at off-site business-related functions such as conferences, social events or places related to or resulting from to work.

This 2-day session will help participants to recognize potentially high-risks situations, assignment that compromise their safety, reduce security hazards and make necessary recommendations or changes in the physical plant, policy and procedures to reduce or eliminate the hazards. The training will include the psychological components of handling aggressive and abusive, types of disorders and ways to handle aggression and defuse hostile situations by adopting the use of Closed Quarter Battle techniques without hesitation if the elements of physical attacks are eminent.

11. Women Seccurity & Its Challenges

Women are playing an ever important role in the private security industry, be in-house or external agency engagement. Women security personnel are employed across all sectors and they in high demand in establishments where the population is predominantly females. Employers regard women security personnel as essential especially in customer-facing roles such as security receptionist, telephone operators, events officer or security supervisor. They bring a distinct set of skills and values to the job and are appreciated for their customer service qualities and assertiveness.

The program will highlight expectations and challenges in a profession – environment – culture where it is dominantly male. This training offers women the opportunity towards a career in an industry that is being transformed and professionalized; inevitably requiring the Services of   professional female security    officers.

Facilitators will include woman security practitioners who will share their hands on experience and expertise in this security discipline.

12. ICT Trend & Social Media Networking for Security Practitioners

In the modern day, being able to fully utilize the computing and mobile technology is the key to success. As more and more changes happen in the blink of an eye, being left behind is not an option. Participants will be exposed to computer software, mobile applications and the benefits of computing gadgets.

In the nutshell, participants will be given hands on opportunity to Web 3.0 and Social Media (Google search engines, Gmail, MediaFire, DropBox, Skype, Video Chat Medium, YouTube and Twitter. The session will include skills on Mobile Computing (creation of personal Blog, Use of Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and Viber. This program is certainly appropriate for security practitioners who wish to enhance the minimum IT knowledge and skills.

13. Handling Bomb Threat Calls

In this millennium, bomb threat calls seems to be the evil instrument used to create fear and uncertainty within any company. As the threat increased, companies have to be prepared to deal with this life threatening situations.

The threat can be external or comes from within ‘disgruntled employee’ i.e. the potential time bomb. Management’s right decision will not only protect the personal well-being of its employees in timely manner but could also prevent major loss in production in terms of cycle time and productivity. The program focuses on handling the call, discreet search techniques and understanding the management’s decision making process. This course has been specially designed to be comprehensive and authoritative, most appropriate in our business environment.

14. Pemandu Berhemah & Berfikiran Keselamatan

Program ini direka bentuk untuk jawatan pemandu khususnya pemandu kapada ahli usahawan, ketua-ketua jabatan termasuk orang kenamaan yang tertentu. Walau pun tugas seorang pemandu kelihatan ringan, namun demikian, ancaman yang ujud sudah pasti akan melibatkan keselamatan diri pemandu itu samada cara langsung atau tidak. Kursus ini memberi penekanan kepada kesedaran peserta terhadap ancaman serta pengetahuan keselamatan seorang pemandu yang berhemat. Disamping itu, mereka akan diberi penerangan terhadap teknik serta kemahiran tertentu agar mereka sentiasa lebih perihatin kapada keadaan sekeliling serta sedia bertindak dengan penuh keyakinan diri sendiri.

Pemahaman yang jelas mengenai prinsip keselamatan, peraturan dan ciri-ciri pemandu berhemat akan membolehkan peserta melaksana sebarang tanggungjawab dengan efisen dan penuh keberkesanan tanpa menjejaskan aspek peraturan (tektikal) dan peruntukan perundangan negara.

15. Keselamatan Pemandu Bonded

Para pemandu, khususnya yang terlibat dalam penghantaran kargo, perlu didedahkan serta diberi pengetahuan yang jelas tentang keselamatan kargo serta selok belok pemanduan selamat. Ini adalah penting kerana sebarang tindakan atau langkah yang diambil sepanjang operasi pengendalian kargo akan mengambilkira aspek aspek keselamatan yang bersesuaian. Ancaman yang timbul daripada para penjenayah di luar hanya boleh dielak atau dikurangkan jika sekiranya terdapatnya langkah langkah yang strategik yang dirancang serta diambil hasil daripada pengetahuan serta pendedahan yang diperolehi.

Selain daripada dapat mengurangkan kesan risiko kehilangan hasil daripada amalan keselamatan yang di praktikkan, keyakinan pelanggan juga diyakini akan meningkat ekoran daripada inisiatif serta komitmen yang ditunjukkan oleh pengusaha pengangkutan.

16. Effective Security Workforce

This 2-day program is specially designed for security officers to realize the relationship of their ‘personal expectations’ to the ‘management’s expectations’... in the challenging work environment. They will seek to discover their potentials in terms of talents, leadership skills and abilities in order to give meaning to their job. On the first day, participants will experience various activities in order to see the ‘differences’.

Participants will go through a series of group work to determine their personal values, value systems and their group values that ultimately will enhance the individual and group performance. They will be exposed to the secrets of providing customer service and work ethics, which compliments the critical behaviors necessary for effective team players. At the end of the session, participants will be challenged to make the ‘difference’ and it is ‘the small difference that makes a big difference’ to their organization.

17. Crisis Management Overview

This 4 hour-session has been designed to provide a comprehensive overview to those in the management group that believes forward-thinking companies across the country and around the world are proactively practicing crisis management. On completion of this session, members of the Crisis Management Teamwill meet periodically as part of their responsibility to evaluate risks and situations in order to plan and respond to any crisis situation in a timely manner.

Working as a team in a positive climate, clear policies and effective crisis plans; sensitivity to warning signs of impending danger and exhibitions of problem behaviors will prevent a simple situation from developing to an unexpected critical event. The ultimate aim is to have sufficient exposure to roles and functions of a crisis management team in times of need.

18. Cargo Security Requirment Program

Cargo crime costs manufacturers of high value, high risk products and their transport and logistics providers billions of dollars in losses every year. Losses occur in all sectors of the cargo chain – from manufacturer to customer via air, land and sea. Theft during the supply chain process also seriously harms company's reputation with your customers.

This 3-day program will expose the participants to the best practices, advisories, networking opportunities & events, security standards and intelligence tools. Your business cannot afford to ignore the threats of cargo crime. There are clear evidence that the major threat is from organized crime with widespread (> 85%) collusion of employees within the supply chain operators.

The training modules are specially designed to ensure optimum security and safety in-transit storage, warehousing and transportation of cargo throughout the supply chain. The program will help to determine the minimum acceptable standards for security throughout the supply chain and the methods to be used in maintaining those standards. This training also outlines the process and specification for facilities and transit operations.

19. Security Manager Program (APSA & Malsec Collaboration Program)

This program is  conducted in collaboration between Asean Professional Security Association (APSA Malaysia -Malaysian Chapter) with Malsec Dot Com Sdn Bhd (MALSEC), an established security training provider in the industry. The purpose is to provide key competencies for security managers towards their personal development in pursuit of achieving excellence in the field of security management.

This comprehensive training package has been specially designed for security managers or would be managers who aspire to excel in their profession as a security practitioner. This skill-acquisition oriented manager training program is intended to produce measurable results where every participant would be challenged to professionally to deal and manage situations as an internal consultant to the organization that he or she serves. Participants will be exposed to knowledge, skills and practices in various aspects of security disciplines from experienced security practitioners in the country.

This special program is moving towards achieving professional qualification of CMSP (Certified Malaysian Security Professional).

20. Personal Security Awareness Program

This one day comprehensive program has been specially designed for office staff that will equip them with simple ideas to avoid being victims of criminal activities. The basic knowledge will certainly help participants to share the knowledge with their colleagues as well as the loved ones of the dangers lurking in numerous situations.
